Knowing the Father

Two weeks meditating on the Father heart of God — His tenderness, discipline, generosity, and unwavering welcome.

These devotionals are meant to land on the heart, not just the head. Take them slowly.

The Father runs

"Read the parable of the prodigal son."
Luke 15:11-32

Meditate

While the son was still a long way off, the father ran. Middle-eastern fathers did not run. They walked with dignity. But this father lifts his robe and sprints — past the village's stares, past propriety — to receive his son. This is the God you come home to today.

Pray

Father, thank you that you are not slow or reluctant. You run to meet me. Help me to come home today and rest in your welcome. Amen.
