Money & Generosity

Jesus spoke about money more than almost any other topic — not because He needed ours, but because money so easily becomes a rival lord (Matthew 6:24). This collection walks you through the Bible's teaching on wealth and generosity: the tithe and the firstfruits in the Old Testament, the parables of the talents and the rich fool, Paul's collection for the Jerusalem church in 2 Corinthians 8–9, and the New Testament's remarkable pattern of joyful, ordinary generosity. You will study contentment, debt, greed, giving, and the promise that our treasure in heaven is undiminished by our willingness to release it here.

How you hold money will tell you what holds you.

Matthew 6:19-24

Two masters

Jesus draws a line: you cannot serve both God and money. You will love one and despise the other.

The path forward is not to despise money but to depose it — to enthrone Christ as Lord of every dollar.

2 Corinthians 8 – 9

Giving that looks like Jesus

Christian generosity flows from grace received. We give because we have been given to. We give cheerfully because we know our Father.

Plan it. Make it first, not last. Give where the gospel is going forward.

Contentment in a world of more

Godliness with contentment is great gain. The world will tell you that you do not have enough; the Spirit will tell you that in Christ you have everything.

Practice gratitude. Limit input from advertising. Tithe. Live below your means. Find joy in less.
