Discipleship

Discipleship in the New Testament is not a program or a curriculum. It is the ordinary shape of the Christian life — being with Jesus, becoming like Jesus, and helping other people do the same (Mark 3:14; Matthew 28:19–20). This collection of studies walks through what Jesus meant by 'follow me,' how the early church made disciples in Acts, what Paul meant by 'imitate me as I imitate Christ,' and how to disciple a spouse, a child, a friend, or a small group in ordinary rhythms of Scripture, prayer, obedience, and community. Especially useful for new believers, small-group leaders, parents, and any Christian who wants to move from consuming teaching to reproducing it.

You don't need a curriculum. You need a Savior and a friend.

Matthew 28:18-20

What is a disciple?

A disciple is a learner, a follower, an apprentice — someone who arranges their life around being with Jesus, becoming like Jesus, and joining what Jesus is doing.

The Great Commission is not 'make converts' but 'make disciples.' Everything else is downstream.

2 Timothy 2:1-2

Discipling another person

Pick one person you can love, pray for, open the Word with, and walk alongside. That is discipleship.

Keep it simple: read a passage together, talk about it, pray, repeat. Be present in their real life.

1 Peter 3:13-16

Sharing your faith without weirdness

Peter tells us to be ready to give a reason for our hope 'with gentleness and respect.' Not a script. Not a debate.

Tell your story. Ask about theirs. Invite them to read a Gospel with you. Trust the Spirit to do what only He can do.
