Strength for the Weary
“He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength… they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles.”
Reflect
God is not disappointed by your weakness. Isaiah tells us that weakness is precisely where His generosity is displayed: He gives power to the faint. The Lord does not require you to manufacture spiritual energy before you come to Him. He invites the weary to wait on Him — not passively, but dependently. Waiting means refusing to treat our limits as the end of the story. It means bringing our empty hands to the everlasting God and trusting that His strength is not diminished by our need. The promise is not that we will never feel tired again, but that God renews His people for the path He assigns. Sometimes that renewal feels like soaring. Sometimes it feels like walking one more faithful step without fainting. Both are grace. Today, do not despise small strength. Receive what the Lord gives, and let your weakness become a doorway to deeper dependence.

Where do you feel faint or limited today? What would it look like to wait on the Lord there instead of pushing forward in self-reliance?

Everlasting God, I bring You my weariness. Increase strength where I have no might, and renew me for what You have placed before me today. Teach me to wait on You with trust. Amen.
